生け花 (Ikebana) Flower arrangement English Ver.

Ikebana is an art that has developed uniquely in Japan for about 700 years, and beautifully decorates branches, leaves and flowers with vessels. In order to insert branches and flowers as you want, you need to know many ways to fix them. To learn the technique, people go to flower arrangement classes. It is said that it will take 3 to 5 years to acquire the standard techniques and expressions.

Ikebana has created various styles in its 700 year history. Typical styles include a vase type, pot flower (heika), and a tray type basin (suiban), which is a potted flower (moribana).

Ikebana considers how to arrange the flowers according to the harmony between the flowers and the vase and the atmosphere of the place to decorate, but the big difference from the western flower arrangement is not inserting the flowers one after another, and with as few flowers as possible. The point is to omit branches and leaves and devise how to make beautiful with few flowers.
